JAVIER LOPEZ    
I’m a Barcelona-based Creative Director with 18 years of experience building strategic, visually compelling brands. My experimental approach blends design and technology to create distinctive work that connects with people. I approach motion as an integral part of branding, shaping not just how things look, but how they feel and respond. I’m also increasingly interested in AI as both a creative tool and a space for personal experimentation, exploring new ways of making images, moving image and ideas. I document that ongoing exploration at ai.j-l.studio.

Born in Barcelona, I moved to London in 2010, where I spent the next ten years working full-time and freelance with a variety of agencies and private clients. During that time, I collaborated with studios such as forpeople, Sedley Place, Portland Design, McCann and Havas London. This international experience laid the foundation for a versatile practice spanning sectors including fashion, hospitality, finance, culture and technology.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands and organisations including Diageo, Visa, Lloyds Bank, Depop, Bimba y Lola, Entel, British Museum, MACBA and Bash, delivering projects across Europe, the UK, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.

I’m currently Creative Director at Superside, leading creative work across branding and campaigns for global clients, while helping explore how AI can become a meaningful part of creative workflows, expanding how teams develop ideas, build systems and produce work across different media. Before joining Superside, I spent five years at Mucho, where I was Associate Partner and led multidisciplinary teams across brand strategy, visual identity, motion and digital design.

Alongside client work, I enjoy lecturing and developing workshops around branding, creative direction, motion and emerging creative technologies, sharing practical insights and industry experience with design students.
